MANILA, Philippines — The opposition Otso Diretso team has called off its scheduled campaign rallies in the provinces of Isabela and Cagayan.
In an advisory on Thursday morning, the opposition said they decided to cancel the sorties as the plane carrying its candidates failed to get clearance to land “due to low visibility in the runway.”
The opposition senatorial candidates were supposed to be in Cauayan City, Isabela and Tuguegarao City, Cagayan, on Thursday and Friday, respectively.
Opposition senatorial bets Romy Macalintal, Erin Tañada, Pilo Hilbay and Samira Gutoc were expected to attend the said events while reelectionist Senator Bam Aquino, Chel Diokno and Gary Alejano sent their respective representatives. /cbb
